‘Gambit’ Movie: Channing Tatum’s ‘X-Men’ Character Gets Spin-Off
Wow. This is so cool, and definitely some very exciting news for any and all comic book fans!
On Monday, Jan. 5, FOX announced that X-Men character Gambit would be getting his own film — and it will hit theaters just month after he makes his big screen debut in May 2016.
Gambit, who will be portrayed by Channing in both X-Men: Apocalypse and the solo film, is a professional thief who eventually joins the pack of superheros.
He is from Louisiana, and his mutant ability is being able to control kinetic energy — which he likes to use to throw cards as his weapon of choice.
Channing Confirms Role & Release Date
Channing confirmed the news on Twitter after FOX made their announcement, writing: “How do you say October 7, 2016 in Cajun?”
Gambit will hit theaters on Oct. 7, 2016.
That’s only five months after X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters, so we won’t have to wait long to see Channing in action all by his lonesome!
