The 2015 Sugar Bowl was an epic battle of two football juggernauts, and only one team could walk away the winner. After four quarters of incredible plays, Ohio State won the esteemed football event 42-35 over Alabama. Congrats!

The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide faced off against each other for the 2015 Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Ohio State defeating Alabama 42-35. With equally impressive records, the game was bound to be one of the best of the year — and it sure was!

Ohio State Wins Sugar Bowl

The Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Alabama Crimson Tide — you knew it was going to be an epic game.

Both teams had incredible seasons in both the Big Ten and SEC conferences. The #5 ranked Buckeyes only lost one game this year to Virginia Tech earlier in the season. Since then, Coach Urban Meyer and his team have been demolishing the competition, with their last game against Wisconsin being a complete 59-0 shutout!

Meanwhile, the Alabama Crimson Tide made their back-to-back appearance at the 2015 Sugar Bowl. After losing to Oklahoma in 2014, they had their eye on the Sugar Bowl win. They won the SEC Championship against Missouri on Dec. 6 and wanted to make it all the way to the National Championship!

Ohio State and Alabama kept it close until the fourth quarter. That’s when everything started to change. The Buckeyes were able to make the score 42-28 with three minutes left, but Alabama wasn’t giving up. The Crimson Tide scored with a little over two minutes left, making the score 42-35.

Alabama attempted an onside kick to try and get the ball back, but to no avail.

Ohio State beat the #1 ranked team! Congrats, Buckeyes!

Ohio State will battle Oregon in the National Championship on Jan. 12. Now that game is going to be one to remember!
