Oregon Ducks Win Rose Bowl

Go, Ducks, go! The Oregon Ducks and Florida State Seminoles faced off for the 2015 Rose Bowl, and it was the Ducks who brutally defeated the Seminoles 59-20 after one incredible game.

The 101st Rose Bowl was one to be remembered. The 12-1 Oregon Ducks and the undefeated Florida State Seminoles met up at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California for the annual New Year’s Day game. Marcus Mariota was able to lead his team to a 59-20 victory over Jameis Winston and the Seminoles. Way to go, Ducks!

Florida State had turnover after turnover and Oregon took advantage of every single one.

Despite their undefeated record, Florida State didn’t act like a team that had won every single previous game. In short, Oregon destroyed Florida State.

It was tied going into the third quarter, but Oregon pummeled the Seminoles with 41 points in the second half.

Oregon and Florida State are two teams who always bring it. In the 2014 season, the Ducks only lost to the Arizona Wildcats back in Oct. 2014. They wouldn’t let the Wildcats win again and defeated them 51-13 in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Quarterback Marcus Mariota had an incredible year, with 3,783 passing yards and 254 completed passes.

Marcus was the recipient of the Heisman Trophy this year, and rightfully so. He had one incredible performance at the Rose Bowl. However, Florida States’ Jameis Winston had a memorable as well, but not for the right reasons. He was plagued by interceptions and turnovers. Coach Jimbo Fisher threatened to bench the former Heisman trophy winner if he didn’t “calm the f**k down.”

Before and after the game, Jameis and Florida State became the subject of massive ridicule on social media. This was the first loss for Jameis since high school.

Oregon will face off against either Alabama or Ohio State in the National Championship Game on Jan. 12. Are you ready for that?!

HollywoodLifers, are you happy that Oregon won the Rose Bowl? Let us know!
