John Oliver Slams NYE in Hilarious ‘Last Week Tonight’ Clip
John is not mincing words when it comes to New Year’s Eve!
The Last Week Tonight host hilariously ripped the annual tradition of getting dressed up and boozing the night away in celebration of moving from one year to the next.
In the clip, John lets the audience know why New Year’s Eve is truly the worst — no matter how you choose to celebrate.
“It combines three of the least pleasant things known to man,” Oliver says of the year-end tradition. “Forced interaction with strangers, being drunk, cold and tired, and having to stare at Ryan Seacrest for five solid minutes, waiting for him to tell you what the time is.”
John doesn’t see an evening in with friends as a much better option.
“Do you really want to sit on your friend’s sofa and watch hummus turn brown all night? No. Nobody does.”
In the end, John gives a foolproof excuse to give in any situation that will keep you from having a miserable NYE out and about.
So funny! Do you agree HollywoodLifers? Is New Year’s Eve a blast or a burden?.
