An epic first trailer for Chinese action film ‘Dragon Blade’ was released on Dec. 25. Starring John Cusack, Jackie Chan and Adrien Brody, the historical film seems to deliver intense action and maybe even a compelling plot. WATCH it here and decide for yourselves!
The very first trailer of Dragon Blade was released on Dec. 25 and seems to promise a lot of good action with a strong cast. The trailer shows intense battle scenes between Jackie Chan and Adrien Brody whose characters are fighting to take control over the silk road, while John Cusack forms an alliance with Jackie’s character, stirring up more trouble.
‘Dragon Blade’ Trailer: Jackie Chan Fights Adrien Brody
Set in China during the Han dynasty (206-220 AD), the $65 million dollar Chinese action movie follows Huo An (Jackie), an enslaved official framed for a crime he didn’t commit, according to ComingSoon.Net.
Jackie’s character meets Roman soldier Lucius (John) who is on the run after rescuing the Prince, and when their paths cross they form an unlikely alliance. Meanwhile, Adrien, in his typical slick villainous role, wants to take control over the route that leads from China into the West, which ensures many brutal battle scenes.
With a film having as strong a cast like John, Jackie, and Adrien along with compelling historical elements, we think this film has the potential to do well. The dialogue seemed to be the only lagging point thus far, but with enough action that moves along, the film could very well live up to other historical action films.
Dragon Blade opens in China on Feb. 18, 2015, though there is not yet a known U.S. distributor or release date.
