Neil Patrick Harris is hosting the Oscars for the first time ever! The actor teased his upcoming turn on the Oscars stage in a hilarious promo, released on Dec. 25.
Neil Patrick Harris, 41, is no stranger to hosting award show stages. But with his very first turn at the Oscar stage, the actor is ready to bring the funny in a brand new way!
Neil Patrick Harris’ Hilarious Oscar Teaser
Niel is bringing his brand of funny to the Oscar stage, and teasing his hosting gig in a brand new promo!
Decked in a tuxedo and a luxe red scarf, the screen and stage star struts past an oversized Oscar statue as he smirks at the camera and lets the audience know he’s coming to the stage this February!
Neil is well known for his comedic role on How I Met Your Mother, and hilarious hosting turns on both The Emmy’s and the Tony’s.
But even though he’ll be bringing the funny to the Oscar stage, he wants to make sure it retains the level of high class the award show is known for.
‘I want to just make sure that it’s a classy event,” he told Entertainment Weekly. ‘I’ve always loved the Oscars and have great respect for its history, and the gowns, and the classiness of it.”
‘And I loved (previous hosts) Johnny Carson and Billy Crystal and honoring the gravity of it without getting heavy and boring. I have no idea how to balance that, but that’s going to be the task ahead.’
If his past hosting turns are any indication, he should definitely be able to handle that task no problem!
Neil also dished that he plans to use the clout that comes with hosting the Oscars to his full advantage, with possible big plans for skits and collaborations to spice up the show.
“It’s the biggest sandbox in the world,” he told EW. “If you say, ‘I think that I should do a thing with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie,’ because it’s the Oscars, do they say yes? Because they would say no for the Tonys.”
