Are you anxious about your guy meeting your friends and family this holiday season? We worked with a celebrity groomer on a man makeover (or man-over) and we’re spilling her top tips!
Is your new boyfriend meeting your family for the first time? I’m sure he wants to look his best, but it may not be so easy for him to figure out how to do it himself. That’s where you (and our expert tips) come in.
Meeting Girlfriend’s Parents — Get The Hottest Holiday Hairstyle
My friend Cameron was nice enough to be my hair model for the day. Celebrity groomer Amy Komorowski, who styles tons of super hot men in Hollywood including Ryan Reynolds, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford, gave him a modern cut and used a few products for texture and hold.
Amy EXCLUSIVELY shared her top tips:
“Have your guy get a haircut or trim about 2 weeks before the holiday — that way it looks natural and you have one less thing to stress about.
Use at least one hair product to add some texture, hold and style. Make sure to start with a dime size amount and use more if needed. Rub the product between the palms of your hands and apply to the entire head of hair.
Girls, you might be a bit more experienced with a hair dryer and brush. If your guy has a little length on top, try blow drying his hair to add more volume and hold. Then buy him his own because he might just steal yours when he sees the difference it makes!”
Top Men’s Hair Styling Products
You don’t need a ton of products to get the perfect look.
Here are Amy’s top three picks:
“AXE Clean-Cut Look Wet Shine Spray Gel: Easy and straight forward to use. Gives a strong hold but won’t look stiff or hard.
AXE Clean-Cut Look Pomade: Great to use for a sleek style like a classic side part and gives a bit of shine. He will look pulled together for a special dinner or holiday party.
AXE Matte Effect Texturizing Salt Spray: Apply to damp hair. Plumps up fine hair and also tames overly clean or curly hair. Tip: spray on hand first then rub throughout hair and scalp.”
I actually love using the salt spray in my hair for beachy waves!
