The spinoff of ‘Walking Dead’ has landed its leading lady! Kim Dickens, 49, has officially joined the show, and we couldn’t be more excited.
The only thing better than The Walking Dead news is news on The Walking Dead‘s spinoff that AMC will begin filming soon! Kim Dickens has been cast as the lead female in the new show, our sister site Variety confirmed!
‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoff Casts Kim Dickens
Kim will most likely play Nancy Tomkins, “a thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.”
Nancy’s children will be played by Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey, Variety adds. Frank will play Nick, her son who is too old to be living at home but is too screwed up and scared to move out. Alycia portrays Ashley, the smart, teenage daughter — pretty much the opposite of her brother.
The show will be some sort of prequel, of what happened before the zombie apocalypse.
Who is Kim Dickens?
In case you aren’t sure who the new leading lady is, well we’re breaking it down. Here’s as few times you’ve seen her before:
Gone Girl as Detective Rhonda Boney: a complete badass.
Sons of Anarchy as Colette Jane. (And yes, she was lucky enough to hook up with Charlie Hunnam.)
Friday Night Lights as Shelby Saracen.
Deadwood as Joanie Stubbs.
Treme as Janette Desautel.
Lost as Cassidy Phillips.
Kim will also be in House of Cards season three! Kim’s a busy lady. Do you think she’ll be good on The Walking Dead spinoff?
