Even though the judge signed Bruce and Kris’ divorce documents, Dec. 16, they aren’t technically divorced until California’s mandatory “sixth month cooling off period” is complete, which means March 22 will actually be D day!
Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner‘s divorce has been approved by the Los Angeles Superior Court but HollywoodLife.com has learned that Kris still can’t run off and get hitched for the next three months! Even though the judge signed the docs, Kris, 59, and Bruce, 65, are still legally husband and wife.
Bruce & Kris Jenner: Why They Aren’t Free To Marry Other People Yet
HollywoodLife.com spoke to a top family law attorney who confirms that Bruce and Kris are still “technically married.”
“They are still technically husband and wife,” Leon Bennett told us. “The only thing that is delayed is the freedom to remarry. Once the sixth month date arrives she is free to remarry.”
We told you, that date is March 22 but Kris is able to go back to Kris Kardashian.
“The judgement of dissolution of marriage has a check box on it where it grants a request for a name change back to your maiden name,” Leon tells us. “If that was checked on the face page of the judgement than her name is restored effectively when the judgement was signed even though the status of their marriage is not yet terminated.”
Bruce & Kris Separate But Settle Amicably
Kris filed for divorce, Sept. 22, and she cited “irreconcilable differences” and on Dec. 3, all of their paperwork was officially in and the judge simply had to sign the docs.
Kris’ divorce filing came one year after she separated from Bruce. Neither of them are asking for spousal support and all of their finances are settled too.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Bruce and Kris will get married to other people again?
