We’re so excited! Viola Davis, who currently headlines ABC’s monster hit ‘How To Get Away With Murder,’ has reportedly landed the role of Prison Warden Amanda Waller in the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad.’
Viola Davis, 49, has already mastered getting away with murder, so why not try suicide, and by suicide we mean the upcoming movie, Suicide Squad. The Oscar nominee has reportedly been cast as Amanda Waller, the woman often in charge of the squad, in the highly-anticipated DC Comics film.

It’s not a done deal yet, but Viola is allegedly super close to signing on the dotted line, according to IGN, but first, her HTGAWM schedule has to be sorted out.
In the comics, “Amanda Waller is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty,” according to Latino Review.
If everything goes as planned, Viola will be joining Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Tom Hardy as Rick Flag, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jai Courtney as Boomerang.
Unfortunately, this isn’t good news for Oprah Winfrey or Octavia Spencer, who were both reported as contenders for the highly-coveted role.
