Just because ‘The Walking Dead’ is on a mid-season hiatus doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of news about everyone’s favorite zombie apocalypse series. The show’s spinoff, which is operating under the working title of ‘Cobalt’, has reportedly decided on it’s location!
The Walking Dead companion series will feature an all-new set of characters that were not introduced on the original television show or in Robert Kirkman‘s comic books. Also, it won’t take place in Georgia as the current show does. Instead, the series will reportedly be set in an entirely new city –and you won’t believe where!
‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoff Spoilers — New Location Revealed
Although it was announced quite a while ago that AMC was working on a Walking Dead spinoff series, details about the show have only recently started emerging. Now, HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine is reporting that the series, whose pilot will be shot in early 2015, will be based in Los Angeles.
“Almost from the beginning of The Walking Dead (which is set in Atlanta), fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world,” AMC President Charlie Collier said in September.
Zombie Apocalypse Spreading To Los Angeles
Cobalt, which is reportedly a prequel of sorts, would chronicle the days leading up to the same zombie apocalypse. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Cliff Curtis, 46, will play a divorced teacher, while Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) will play the children of the not-yet-cast female lead.
So who knows — we may soon see walkers roaming Disneyland or catching waves in Malibu!
What do you think HollywoodLifers, is Los Angeles a good setting for the Walking Dead spinoff?
