‘The Voice’ Season 7 is only one night away from the grand finale! Before they can crown their winner, the top four had to perform one last time for America’s votes — we have the full recap!
Matt McAndrew, Craig Wayne Boyd, Chris Jamison and Damien all hit the stage to prove they deserve the winner’s title. Each contestant sang three times — one song their coaches picked, one duet with their coaches, and one original song — find out who gave the most epic performance of the night!
‘The Voice’ Finals — Top 4 Perform
The wild card winner, Damien, kicked off the show singing “A Song for You,” a Donny Hathaway classic. “This is it,” Adam Levine told him during rehearsals. With the pressure on, Damien delivered an unforgettable performance. “There is so much power in every note you sing…I wish I could be critical but that was great,” Blake commented after his performance.
Blake Shelton wrote a song that he has been “carrying around in his back pocket for years” — being the amazing coach he is, Blake gave that song to his contestant, Craig Wayne Boyd, to sing as his original during the finals. Craig belted out “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face” and the crowd went wild. “Welcome to your future,” Pharrell told Craig!
“Lost without you” was the song that Adam performed with his contestant Chris Jamison. “We’re going to kill it,” Adam told Chris before they hit the stage — and they did just that. Their falsetto was on point!
Matt McAndrew Performs His Original Song & Kills It
Matt McAndrew‘s original single, “Wasted Love,” was hybrid of all of the things he has done. His soulful performance was defiantly finals worthy — that boy can sure sing! “We have been working 24/7 on this song….it is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life….I am a huge fan of this guy and he’s not even done winning yet,” Adam gushed about his contestant.
For his next performance, Craig was joined by his coach, Blake, to sing “Boots On.” The pair had a blast on stage and we loved watching every second!
Adam told Damien, “I have been wanting to get up there with you for a while,” before their duet. The two sang, “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.” What a unique combination of voices — we loved it and so did the audience!
Next up, Chris debuted his very first original single, “Velvet.” The judges were blown away — “everyone is watching you change and watching you grow, congratulations,” Pharrell told Chris after his performance.
Matt and Adam then teamed up to sing “Lost Stars.” Adam explained, “It’s beautiful and passionate just like Matt” — so sweet!
Craig Wanye Boyd Gets Emotional And Dedicates Song To His Son
Up next, Craig, who has been through two steals and two coaches sang the emotional tune, “In Pictures.” At the end, he said, “I love you, Sam.” We have to admit, we got a bit teary-eyed! “I am so happy for you, if you win or you don’t win…you’ve already won. You are going on tour and you get to take him with you,” Gwen Stefani told Craig.
Damien performed his first single, “Solider” and Adam had all of confidence in the world that he would kill it — and he did (we were not shocked). As usual, the coaches were all on their feet by the end of his song!
Chris Jamison Sings Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’ — EPIC
In the most epic performance of the night, Chris took on a Justin Timberlake classic, “Cry Me A River.” We cannot wait to watch it over a few hundred more times. “All right, all right,” Carson Daily had to silence the audience after Chris finished singing. “Welcome and congratulations,” Adam said to his contestant.
Closing out the night was Matt with a performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” — talk about perfect! We literally had the chills the whole time he was singing. This is going to be one tough decision for America!
