Luke Bryan hit the stage at the first ever American Country Countdown Awards, Dec. 15, and he did fabulous even though he is grieving over the sudden loss of his brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire.

Minutes after Luke, 38, won the award for Best Male Vocalist, he had to perform. It wasn’t until his speech that we could truly see the pain he’s been going through since the sudden loss of his brother-in-law.
Despite the tough timing of it all, Luke prevailed and did a great job. He proved once again why he’s one of country music’s best artists.
Luke Suffers Major Family Losses
Luke’s brother-in-law died suddenly Dec. 2, and he was the husband to Luke’s late sister, Kelly, who died suddenly in 2007.
Luke’s brother, Chris Bryan, died in a tragic car accident in 2003.
“Your faith has to get you through all that,” Bryan told People. “That’s not saying you don’t question it. But you just have to revert back to your faith in God’s plan, that you’ll be together again and that’s what you have to go on.”
