Los Angeles Dodgers fans are seriously upset! Matt Kemp, who joined the team in 2006, has just been traded to the San Diego Padres.
Matt Kemp, 30, will be heading down the coast. The L.A. Dodgers agreed on a trade on Dec. 11, which will land them catcher Yasmani Grandal, pitcher Joe Wieland and righty Zach Eflin. However, they will lose Matt and catcher Tim Federowicz, ESPN confirms.
Matt Kemp Traded To Padres
This is a huge plan, and according to multiple reports, Matt’s $107 million salary will not be compromised. Since he’s ending his contract early, the Dodgers will send $31 million to San Diego to make up for what he hasn’t yet received, ESPN reports.
However, Matt Kemp made his MLB debut with the Padres in 2006, so it’s no surprise that fans are absolutely heartbroken over this news. Naturally, they’re taking to Twitter to express their shock. Read their responses below!
