Poor Rob. The reality star was spotted out for the first time in five months and sadly, it looks like he’s still battling with his considerable weight gain.
Rob Kardashian hasn’t been photographed since July 2014, and we were so hoping that he’d be looking happier and healthier by the time we saw him again. Unfortunately, based on this new photo of Rob driving around Los Angeles on Dec. 8, it’s clear that he’s still struggling. Is it possible that depression is playing a role in his weight issues? Here’s what we know.
Rob Kardashian Weight Gain: He Looks Like He’s Still Struggling In New Picture
Rob was snapped driving his Mercedes SUV around LA on Dec. 8, sporting an oversized black T-shirt and a beard. He did not look any slimmer than the last time he was spotted getting braces put on in July.
This is despite the fact that Kardashian family trainer Gunnar Peterson told E! News in October that Rob was a “grinder” who was working hard to shed some pounds.
Rob opened up about his weight gain in a February 2014 episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, seemingly placing the blame on his breakup with singer Rita Ora. “It’s crazy how this whole year, my whole relationship was only negative, all I did was gain f**king 40 pounds and lose so much money,” he said at the time, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
This leads us to wonder whether depression has played a key role in Rob’s weight battles.
Indeed, an E! News source revealed in August that Rob “hates being big, but he gained all that weight from being depressed. He wants to lose over 50 lbs.”
Rob Kardashian’s Weight: ‘He’ll Get Where He Needs To Be,’ Trainer Says
It’s unclear whether Rob is still hitting the gym, but in October, Gunnar promised that a slimmed-down Rob would be coming soon.
“Rob’s a grinder, he’s getting it done,” Gunnar said at the time. “He’s one of those guys who is always going to keep at it. He’ll get to where he needs to be and everybody has their path.”
Rob’s famous family is definitely worried about him and we hope that they’re doing whatever they can to support him. E!’s source said in August that his mother, Kris Jenner, 59, had “been so worried” about Rob that she’d been crying herself to sleep every night.
