How awful. A Mississippi teenager was allegedly murdered by being burned to death inside of her own vehicle.
Jessica Chambers, 19, was simply going to get something to eat when a passerby spotted her car in a blaze of fire on the side of a road and called 911. Emergency workers could hear her speaking in a “hoarse” voice, but what she said has not yet been revealed. Could she have identified the person — or persons — who allegedly started the fire that led to her death?
Jessica Chambers, 19: Killed In Car Mysterious Car Fire
What a horrific way to take someone’s life.
On Saturday night, Dec. 6 near the town of Courtland in Mississippi, someone spotted a blazing fire on the side of a rural road. It was Jessica’s car, engulfed in flames and burning her alive, reports CNN.
The young girl reportedly spoke in a “hoarse voice” to emergency responders, but sadly they were not able to save her. However, what she said has not yet been revealed — and reports claim she may have revealed the identity of her killer.
Authorities in the area have begun questioning people, but they do not have a suspect and no one is in custody for this heinous act of violence.
Jessica’s Parents Left Devastated
The two people who are suffering the most from this horrific tragedy are Jessica’s parents, Ben and Lisa Chambers.
In a heartbreaking interview, Ben revealed that his daughter was unrecognizable after the fire that took her life — and doctors told him that 98% of her body was covered in burns.
“They have ripped everything I have,” Lisa told a local CNN affiliate in Mississippi.
Our thoughts go out to the Chambers family during this difficult time. Hopefully, the police are able to solve this mystery sooner rather than later and bring whoever did this to justice.
