So sad. Chris, Trey and Stephanie were ‘like family’ and both singers are now heartbroken over the VH1 star’s untimely death on Dec. 8, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Trey Songz, 30, and Chris Brown, 25, had a close, longtime friendship with Stephanie Moseley, 30. So close, in fact, that they had even planned on including her in their 2015 tour stop in Los Angeles, before she was tragically shot and killed on Dec. 8 by her husband, rapper Earl Hayes, a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Trey Songz & Chris Brown On Stephanie Moseley Death: Singers Filled With Grief
Everyone in the music and dance community is mourning Stephanie’s loss, especially Chris and Trey.
“Both Chris and Trey are beside themselves. All three of them were very close, like family. She was one cool girl who was even going to be part of one of their LA shows next year,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“Chris and Trey love taking their fans back to when they were younger and mixing in some of their old school hits at their shows. That’s where Steph would have come in because Chris was going to have her dance or do some sort of skit with him to ‘Yo (Excuse Miss)’,” our source reveals. “She was going to be on stage with them in LA and now that’s not going to happen. Man, life is here today and gone tomorrow. Crazy.”
We can’t imagine how hard it must be for Stephanie’s friends and family to accept that she’s really gone. So heartbreaking.
Trey Songz Mourns ‘Baby Girl’ Stephanie Moseley In Sad Tweet
As HollywoodLife.com previously told you, Stephanie’s husband, Earl — who turned the gun on himself after killing his wife — had reportedly accused her of having an affair with Trey.
“He was always a controlling guy, but things were getting out of hand,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “[Earl] was paranoid that [Stephanie] was cheating on him and had threatened to kill himself in the past if she ever left him. The tragic part is that she wanted to leave him at least two months ago and was afraid to end things. She said she didn’t want to hurt him and now she’s no longer with us.”
While we’re still not sure exactly what went down between Stephanie and Trey, he did seem to care about her deeply. He tweeted a sad tribute to Stephanie on Dec. 9, saying:
R.I.P babygirl. Once an angel on earth, now watching over us from Heaven. You’ll b missed but never forgotten. Love

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Earl and Stephanie’s loved ones during this difficult time.
