ESPN anchor Stuart Scott has been fighting cancer for seven years, and now we know what an amazing support system he has! In a tearful new video, his ‘Countdown’ crew breaks down and pays tribute to his brave battle — watch!

There’s no doubt about it — Stuart Scott, 49, is a fighter. But even the strongest fighters need a little help from their friends sometimes. So we’re sure Stuart was incredibly touched when his temporary replacement Suzy Kolber led his ESPN co-hosts in an uplifting new tribute video.

Stuart Scott’s Cancer: ESPN Hosts Send Uplifting Message About His Fight

Suzy broke down and delivered a beautiful show of support for Stuart during the “Monday Night Football” broadcast on Dec. 8., saying:

I have the privilege of sitting in [Scott’s] seat each week as he fights the fight with cancer. It’s been seven years and Stuart is the recipient of the Jimmy V Award for perseverance and he said in his amazing speech . . . that sometimes when you don’t have the strength you need your friends to step up a little bit and help you. So, Stuart, we want you to know we’re sending you some extra strength and to keep fighting that fight.

Then Suzy, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer and Ray Lewis and other crew members joined hands and said, “We love you Scott!” So heartwarming!

Stuart also has an incredible family to draw comfort and support from, including his daughters, Taelor and Sydni. Stuart honored the girls in an emotional speech of his own when he won the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPY Awards in July.

“The best thing I’ve ever done, the best thing I will ever do is be a dad to Taelor and Sydni. I can’t ever give up because I can’t leave my daughters. I love you girls more than I will ever be able to express. You are my heartbeat. I am standing on this stage tonight because of you,” Stuart told the audience, before asking Sydni and Taelor to join him on stage for some hugs.
