New look alert! The First Lady attended the 37th Annual Kennedy Center Honors and she switched out her signature volumized style for a pin straight look!
First Lady, Michelle Obama, 50, always looks amazing, and we love that she’s not stuck in a box with her style! She got super glam in D.C on Dec. 7 and flaunted a new slicked back straight style. Do you love this look or do you miss her feathered strands?
Michelle Obama At Kennedy Center Honors — Hair & Makeup
Michelle usually opts for fuller styles with feathered layers or lots of volume, but she went for a much sleeker look at this prestigious event. She was beautiful in a blush dress, and kept the soft color scheme going with rosy blush and subtle pink lip gloss.
What was most stunning about her look was her super straight, sleek hair!
She wore her shoulder length tresses back away from her face, with the hair on either side slicked back for an ultra chic look.
Michelle Obama’s Slicked Back Hair — Love Or Loathe?
Michelle is definitely not the first to wear this slicked back style, and it is such a trendy look for a first lady!
To recreate her edgy look, begin by brushing hair straight back from the crown and applying a gel to your hairline on either side. Brush hair back behind each ear and if you’d like, secure with a bobby pin (it will be disguised by loose hair). For those with naturally straight hair, you’ll want to use a texturizing hair spray to make sure your hair maintains it’s shape — it’s that easy!
Do you love this style on Michelle? Or do you think she should stick to her fuller hairstyles?
