Uh oh. Fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ are NOT happy about Beth’s shocking death at the end of season 5’s mid-season finale — and over 23,000 of them have already petitioned to bring her back ASAP.
The Walking Dead may have seriously upset it’s dedicated fan base by killing off the beloved Beth Greene, portrayed by Emily Kinney. Find out why over 23,000 loyal fans of the show have decided to rebel against the show runners and demand she be brought back from the dead by starting an online petition.
‘The Walking Dead’ Fans Demand Show Bring Back Beth
This is one angry horde The Walking Dead did not see coming.
After Beth was killed off in the last moments of the Nov. 30 mid-season finale, one fan took matters into her own hands in hopes of changing her fate.
Since that fan, named Amanda from Portland, Maine, started a Change.org petition addressed to The Walking Dead, AMC, and producer Scott Gimple, a whopping 23,000 have offered their signatures in support.
“[Beth’s] death was far too soon and the writers threw away the potential of a perfectly good character,” Amanda wrote as the introduction to her petition. “Her story wasn’t over.”
But, that’s not all. Amanda also shared that Beth was a “symbol of hope” for women and “self-harmers,” especially because she overcame her heartbreaking suicide attempt in season two.
Not only is she right about that, but tens of thousands of The Walking Dead fans also agree.
Dead Characters Have Returned Before
If you’re wondering how it would even be possible for Beth to return after Officer Dawn shot her in the head inside Grady Memorial Hospital, well, it’s not as difficult as one might think.
Some loyal Walking Dead fans may remember Shane’s epic return — if only for a few brief seconds while Rick was hallucinating him as a walker during an attack.
And let’s not forget Lori’s return after she died giving birth to Judith. Although she remained silent, she haunted Rick for weeks in a creepy white dress and led him to one of his many nervous breakdowns.
Last but not least, there is the “flashback” option. Remember that touching Hershel flashback inside the prison at the beginning of season 5?
So, The Walking Dead — looks like it’s your move.
