We’re so excited to watch the legacy of Whitney Houston unfold in this highly-anticipated TV movie! Based on the new trailer for Lifetime’s ‘Whitney,’ the biopic looks like it captures the all the high — and low — notes throughout her life. Watch it here!

Whether it was her voice or her stage presence, Whitney Houston was truly larger than life. For this reason and more, we simply can not wait to watch Lifetime’s biopic about her, fittingly titled Whitney, after seeing the trailer.

The film, which divulges all aspects of Whitney’s life, stars Yaya DaCosta (The Butler) and was directed by Angela Bassett. Trust us when we say you’ll barely breathe while watching the trailer — click to watch it here!

At first glance, the upcoming TV movie, which airs on Jan. 17, looks incredibly raw and emotional. Yaya has an uncanny resemblance to Whitney as she portrays her story as a New Jersey choir girl and her transformation into a superstar singer, according to Buzzfeed.

We would also be remiss if we didn’t mention that the soundtrack alone is enough of a reason to tune in to Whitney.

The movie highlights the true challenges that the Grammy Award-winning artist endured, which included her struggles with addiction and her relationship with Bobby Brown.

We will always love Whitney Houston and we are counting down the days until Whitney airs!

Be sure to watch Whitney, which premieres Saturday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
