Potterheads, rejoice! If you’ve been waiting for your letter to Hogwarts, we’re happy to tell you that the long wait is finally over — if you’re ready to shell out $345 and fly to Poland!
It’s happening! Potterheads can now attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry — sort of. There’s an equally cool option out there, as a Polish company called Liveform, with longtime Hogwarts aspirations, has teamed up with a Danish company, Rollespilsfabrikken, to recreate the famous school in a castle, and is inviting 180 lucky Muggles to join in the magical fun from April 9-12, 2015 in a fan made event called The College of Wizardry!
‘Harry Potter’: Czocha College of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
Here’s how you can go off to Hogwarts! First, you need to sign up; applications were open since Dec. 1 — so you better hurry! Then, if you’re lucky enough to make the cut, you better start looking for plane tickets to Poland! Once there, each ‘player’ will be assigned to be either a student, professor, ghost or staff during their few days at the Czocha College of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Czocha, Poland. And although the whole event features the essence of J.K Rowling’s enchanted school, expect there to be a few unique twists. Instead of the four familiar houses, you’ll have a chance of being sorted into one of five brand-new ones named after notable people in European magic: Durentius, a legendary traveller who rode to the moon and back on a rooster, Faust, a german wizard, Libussa, a renowned seer, Molin, a powerful jewish wizard, and Sendivogius, a polish alchemist.
And dust off your wands and have them at the ready, because the course is going to be pretty intense! Students in attendance will be made to complete their Senior Protective Enchanter’s Lifelong License, or ‘S.P.E.L.Ls’, during their course of study. But don’t worry; there’ll be a range of Hogwarts-esque teachers to help you out along the way!
‘Harry Potter’ Fans — Will They Find Love At The Yule Ball?
The company pulled off a dry run of the activities for a few days in November, with 200 live-action players from 11 different countries. The whole experience looks super cool and authentic. Looks like you’ll get to stay in familiar dormitories, seek adventure in the Forbidden Forest, and even steal a dance at the Yule Ball! To check out the promo click here!
However, be warned that your company will probably be a little older than Harry and the gang, judging by the video!
What do you think about being able to practice potions and the Dark Arts for real, Hollywood Lifers? Are you going to try and get in on the next session? Let us know!
