How disrespectful! During the annual tree lighting in Rockefeller Center, a WPIX reporter was covering the protests following the Eric Garner decision when a couple thought it’d be funny to photobomb the live shot with an extremely offensive pose!

Following the decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson after placing Eric Garner in a chokehold that eventually led to his death, riots and protests began in New York City — the same night as the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was being lit. However, not everyone was defending Eric’s side. One couple actual mocked the chokehold scene that happened between Eric and the NYPD officer, and it was all caught on camera.

WPIX, a local New York City news channel was covering the protests surrounding the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center on Dec. 3 — a very busy area in the city. However, while Allison Kaden‘s was reporting from the scene on live TV, an older couple step in an actually reenact the chokehold.

It’s shocking at the offensive nature, since Eric Garner lost his life after suffering a heart attack following the chokehold Officer Wilson had put him in.

The city did see the protests coming after the horrific riots that have been happening ever since Ferguson, but were not sure how to avoid it.

Trying To Make Peace

“Today’s outcome is one that many in our city did not want,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement following the case. “Yet New York City owns a proud and powerful tradition of expressing ourselves through nonviolent protest. We trust that those unhappy with today’s grand jury decision will make their views known in the same peaceful, constructive way.”

Eric Garner’s family attorney, Jonathon Moore was shocked by the decision not to indict Pantaleo.

“I am actually astonished based on the evidence of the video tape, and the medical examiner, that this grand jury at this time wouldn’t indict for anything, is really just astonishing,” he said, according to ABC7.com.
