On the live elimination show of ‘The Voice,’ the Top 8 was cut down to the Top 5! With his last two singers sent home, Team Pharrell took a big hit. Both Danica Shirey and Luke Wade were both extremely promising contestants — they should have made it further in the competition!
On Dec. 2, powerhouse Danica Shirey‘s time on The Voice was cut short along with her fellow team member, Luke Wade. Poor Pharrell –his only contestants are no longer in the running to win. Here is why they deserved a spot in the Top 5.
The Voice: Danica Shirey & Luke Wade Eliminated — Why They Deserved A Spot In Top 5
Week after week, Danica proved that her voice was something special. During the Top 10 performance night, she took on a Whitney Houston classic, “I Have Nothing.” With that performance, she put herself on the map as a major powerhouse in the competition!
Not only was Danica one of the strongest singers, she also overcame a lot in her life to make it on to the show this season. Three years prior to being on The Voice, Dania’s father passed away. She took some time off music and decided to honor him by auditioning for Season 7. Danica is an inspiration, especially being a mother who still finds time to follow her dreams.
Luke Wade Has Star Potential
Luke was another singer that I thought would make it way further in the competition. Yes, he had a great voice, but it was much more than that — the guy totally had star potential.
During his performance of Ed Sheeran‘s hit song, “Thinking Out Loud,” Luke fumbled on the beginning lyrics. Despite the rough start, Luke pulled himself together and finished off strong. Adam said, “He recovered like a professional would have recovered!” Pharrell told Luke that he rose to the occasion and we totally agree.
HollywoodLifers, do you agree that Danica and Luke deserved to make it further in the competition? Let us know your thoughts!
