‘Tis the season! Rockefeller Center was lit up on Dec. 3 for the annual Christmas tree lighting and it wouldn’t be the holidays without Mariah Carey. Watch her performance here.

You can’t decorate your Christmas tree without turning on Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” so it was no surprise she opened the show at the 82nd annual tree lighting on NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center special! Plus, this year is huge for her — this year marks the 20-year anniversary of her Christmas album, Merry Christmas!

Mariah Carey’s Performance At ‘Christmas In Rockefeller Center’

We can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the epic album hit stands, and when Mariah hit the stage on Dec. 3, she still looked just as amazing! The mother of two looked gorgeous in a red low-cut dress!

She definitely was having some sound issues as she ripped out her earpiece midway through and didn’t hit as many high notes as we’re used to!

The performance wasn’t without a bit of controversy. The day before, she reportedly turned up late to rehearsal, making fans wait in the rain. However, she cleared up any rumors on Twitter and was super sweet apologizing!

Mariah Carey Dissed After Shaky Tree Lighting Performance

“Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you,” she tweeted. “You’ve kept me here, in your hearts, and I keep you in mine always. We are #lambily! #ThereForMe.”

That’s right — we’re always there for Mariah and she’s always there for us, especially at Christmas time! What did you think of the performance, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
