Eminem sounds like he is ready to finally apologize to everyone that he has offended or hurt over the years with his sometimes extremely violent and hurtful lyrics. In “Guts Over Fear” the longtime rapper explains his behavior and says sorry for the “pain” he has caused.
The video features Sia’s vocals, although she does not show her face in the video about a man who wants to become a professional boxer, but is currently working as a dishwasher before he is fired.
He raps, “The pain spawns all the anger on, but it wasn’t until I put the pain in song, learned who to aim it on, that I made a spark.” He continues, “Started to spit hard as s–t, learned how to harness it while the reins were off… But the crazy part was soon as I stopped saying I gave a f–k haters started to appreciate my art.”
Eminem also raps about the fear of losing his emotions. “But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone? And the lights go out in that trailer park, And I’m frozen, cause there’s no more emotion for me to pull from, just a bunch of playful songs, that I make for fun.”
Eminem Threatens Iggy Azalea In Song, ‘Vegas’
The apologetic lyrics come just days after the controversial artist threatened Iggy Azalea, 24, in his song, “Vegas.”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, he raps in the song, “So swallow my pride you’re lucky just to follow my ride. If I let you run alongside the Humvee. Unless you’re Nicki, grab you by the wrist, let’s ski. So what’s it gon’ be? Put that s*** away Iggy. You don’t wanna blow that rape whistle on me. Scream! I love it. ‘Fore I get lost with the gettin’ off.”
Iggy definitely stood her ground against the completely inappropriate lyrics by addressing them head on while accepting the award for best rap artist and best rap/hip-hop album where she actually beat out Eminem as well as Drake, 28.
She told the crowd, “It means so much that I can stand here against Eminem and Drake and come out with this.”
