It’s official: girls rule!
Anything boys can do, girls can do better — and that includes MMA fighting for the UFC.
On Saturday night, Nov. 22, Paige made her first official UFC debut as a pro MMA fighter in the cage against Kailan Curran. Both girls weighed in at 115lbs, but it was Paige who took home the winning title that night.
Paige, a former model, decided to become an MMA fighter out of pure boredom and following the suggestion of her wrestling coach when she was just 15.
After winning her first UFC fight, she found herself in shock — and tears.
Paige Won A $50l Debut Bonus For Her Fight
Although her first fight didn’t make any of the sports broadcasts, Paige still made headlines.
Not to mention, she also took home Fight of the Night honors thanks to her debut win — which left her with a $50,000 bonus prize.
“Going into it, I always get nervous before I perform. Once I walk out to the cage, all the nerves set in. I’m used to being under pressure. Luckily, I perform really well under pressure. And what a way to kick off my UFC debut with a bonus,” Paige said during her post-fight press conference.
