‘Downton Abbey’ Christmas Special Details Revealed
Hold on to your horse and buggy because Downtown Abbey promises a huge secret to be unveiled and more “drastic measures” to be taken in this dynamic season opener!
Set in the early fall of 1924, The Crawley family will take a trip to the Brancaster Castle in the U.K county of Northumberland for grouse shooting season as guests of Lady Rose’s father-in-law, Lord Sinderby.
According to the update on the special, Alun Armstrong of Braveheart will be joining the cast as the Sinderby’s butler Stowell; and the word is he has a particular “ax to grind.”
BAFTA Award nominee, Jane Lapotaire of Blind Justice, will also be guest starring as the notorious Princess Irina, wife of Prince Kuragin.
‘Downton Abbey’ Adds Guest Stars To Season 5
Of course it wouldn’t be Downton Abbey if everything were to go smoothly. Back in Downton, the servants will hold down the fort, and we can expect to see Bates try to clear his wife Anna’s name and save her from her uncertain future behind bars.
We can also expect that “a scandalous secret threatens to undermine the holiday,” and a sneaky scheme will be in the works from Baxter and Molesley.
Don’t worry Downton fans, you will still see your favorite actors on screen in their usual roles.
