Oscar Isaac As ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Villain — Actor Cast Titular Bad Guy
We’re so excited that Oscar will take on the bad guy role in Bryan Singer‘s follow up to X-Men: Days of Future Past, as reported by HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Variety.
Interestingly, Tom Hardy was reportedly being considered for the role, but it seems like that didn’t come to fruition.
“Apocalypse deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?” Bryan asked aloud when speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the premise of the sequel.
He told Variety that, “Apocalypse will have more of the mass destruction that X-Men films, to date, have not relied upon. There’s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.”
‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ — Familiar Faces Returning?
Apocalypse will reportedly take place in the 1980s and could feature younger versions of the X-Men mutants, who will likely be played by James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender. Hugh Jackman may also appear as Wolverine.
The movie will be released on May 27, 2016.
