We’ve been looking forward to watching Cameron Diaz star in the new ‘Annie’ movie, but this is not the Annie that we were expecting. ‘Saturday Night Live’ did its own hilarious rendition of the upcoming film — Check out the video below!
Cameron Diaz hosted SNL on Saturday November 22, and portrayed the infamous Miss Hannigan in an Annie parody. The clip started off like your everyday Annie portrayal, but things took a turn when “Black Annie” arrived. WATCH the video and let us know what you think.
Cameron Diaz Hosts ‘Saturday Night Live’ — Mocks ‘Annie’ Role
In the sketch, Cameron is a very provocatively dressed Miss Hannigan waiting on the arrival of Daddy Warbucks (played by Jamie Foxx in the film). However, when Warbucks (Jay Pharoah) arrives, he is totally uninterested in meeting the Annie played by Vannessa Baker. He requests, “No, no, no, no, I want the Black Annie.”
The result — a 43-year-old “Black Annie” played by Leslie Jones that can palm a basketball and was proud to announce, “I got some big a** hands!”
Saturday Night Live Mocks New Annie Movie
This skit was absolutely hilarious! Black Annie proclaimed that she is not just an orphan, but a veteran, and a former WNBA player. She also added, “I got three kids that you’re probably going to have to adopt, too.”
To top it all off, the skit closes with the cast singing Ram Jam’s “Black Betty”, but replacing Betty with Annie in the lyrics!
