The Duggar family on TLC’s ’19 Kids and Counting’ is fighting to stay on air with a counter-petition! After upsetting the LGBTQ community, a petition on Change.org dedicated to removing the Reality TV family’s reign gained traction. On Nov. 21, matriarch Michelle Duggar made moves to fight back!
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are facing the possibility of losing their family’s reality television show — but they won’t go down without a fight. After insulting the LGBTQ community on social media and giving rise to an cancellation petition, the Duggars are now developing their own support system with a counter-petition to stay on the air!
Michelle Duggar: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Mother Posts Counter-Petition To Keep Show On The Air
American’s angelic family might be ultra conservative when it comes to dating, but based on their fight to save the show, the Duggars are pretty aggressive!
“The Duggar Family is under attack from anti-marriage advocates for standing for traditional marriage. We commend The Duggar Family for their brave stand in defending marriage as ordained by God between one man and one woman. No individual’s sexual behavior and chosen lifestyle has the right to redefine marriage.”
The lip locking trend went viral after Jessa Duggar and her new husband, Ben Seewald, starting a “kissing trend” among the family’s couples and asked their married Facebook fans to share photos of themselves kissing.
Fans happily participated, but when some of the same-sex couples realized that their pictures had been “removed” and/or “banned” from the page, outrage ensued. And, rightfully so.
A meager 5,000 signatures supporting the petition on Change.org back in September now has more than 135,000 supporters as of Nov. 21., 2014.
Michelle Duggar: Counting Signatures, Counting On Staying On The Air
The social media controversy has clearly given rise to a whole new wave of support from people who want the Duggars to be done on TV.
Meanwhile, numbers are looking bad for the Duggars, who only have 12,000 signatures according to Us Weekly. While Michelle has more than 19 signatures, it may not be enough compared to the original petition.
It’s ironic that a social media trend to spread the love has now given rise to so much animosity surrounding the all american family.
Apparently locked lips sometimes sink ships if everyone can’t get on board!
