Braids are everywhere — on the red carpet, on the runway and on the screen in The Hunger Games — Mockingjay: Part 1, which hit theaters on Nov. 21. Linda Flowers is the hairstylist who created the iconic Katniss braid that Jennifer Lawrence, 24, wears in the movies — find out how to copy the look in a few simple steps right here!

Katniss Braid Hair Tutorial — Get Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Mockingjay’ Look

Here’s the step by step for the Katniss braid written out:

“Step 1: Begin by creating texture throughout hair (this is the most important step to create a natural, effortless look). I use TopStyler, but simple curling, twisting, and scrunching of the hair will do!

Step 2: Start a reverse braid (folding hair over fingers instead of tucking underneath) above your left ear.

Step 3: Continue braiding and adding hair as you work at a 45 degree angle. This should end below your right ear.

Step 4: Finish braid, securing with an elastic.”
