‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’ is Bravo’s first scripted show, but it rivals the ‘Housewives’ in the drama department like no other. In the sex department? Don’t even get us started. Click to WATCH an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek!
Lisa Edelstein (House) and Paul Adelstein (Scandal, Private Practice) star as husband and wife in the raunchy dramedy Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce — well, not for long. The married couple has two kids, but an endless amount of problems, starting with an affair. Only HollywoodLife.com has your first look at the sexcapades!
‘Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce’: The Ups & Down Of Love
“I love seeing the complications that resemble real life,” says Lisa Edelstein, who plays love and life author Abby McCarthy in Bravo’s first-ever scripted series. Her life and career take a turn when her marriage crashes, sending her into a tailspin of emotions — and right into the arms (and beds) of other, younger, newer men.
“No one will take her seriously anymore as an expert on anything family related because her family has disintegrated,” the actress, 48, explains.
With the help of her newfound single and divorced girlfriends (Janeane Garofalo and Beau Garrett), Abby’s independent life takes off, and it’s not always easy. Especially with two kids at home. (One who happens to find her dildo and play with it, as if it’s a toy, as seen in the sneak peek below, debuted by HollywoodLife.com.)
As seen in the exclusive clip, there’s no telling if Abby and Jake (Paul) will stay split forever, but they certainly mingle around — take Jake’s 25-year-old CW actress girlfriend, for instance.
HollywoodLife.com was at an early screening of the first episode, and we’ve got to say, it’s the perfect guilty pleasure for anyone who loved Sex And The City. We’re calling this SATC Takes LA, and that’s never a bad thing. Men? Sex? Booze? And sunshine? We’re sold.
Paul, 45, puts it simply: “Men are not evil on the show and the women are not perfect.”
