Get ready to be swept off your feet. The trailer for the live-action film, ‘Cinderella,’ has just debuted and it’s seriously magical! ‘Downton Abbey’ star, Lily James portrays Cinderella while Cate Blanchett plays the wicked stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter takes on the role of fairy godmother. Trust me, you’ll want to see this!

You’ve never seen Cinderella quite like this. On Nov. 19, Disney released the official trailer for the live-action film and it’s everything we’ve been waiting for! Sure, we loved the Hammerstein & Rodgers version starring Brandy, but you’ve got to see Lily James take on the beautiful role of the normal girl-turned princess for a night.

‘Cinderella’ Trailer

The trailer begins with Cinderella’s mother telling her about the most important life lesson — “have courage and be kind.” So, when her father disappears and she’s left with her step mother, played by an amazing Cate Blanchett, she still keeps her kind soul.

We also see the prince, played by an adorable Richard Madden, as well as Helena Bonham Carter taking on the role of the fairy godmother– a very odd role for her, but we totally love it!nd she looks amazing!

“The honoring of the original comes in, I think, as sort of a lightness of touch and a sort of lavishness,” Director Sir Kenneth Branagh told E! That lavishness comes out at the ball. “I wanted to take the world of the ball. Life can be pretty rough sometimes and it’s a wonderful thing to be able to invite the world to the ball. And then, from the inside, we’ve given it a contemporary feel that is human and humane and strangely enough, not built around the idea that Cinderella’s life depends on finding a man or things, like clothes or a title, or just hoping this magic will come along. It’s much more about who she is, what she feels about herself, and taking that kind of sort of spiritual cue to make it refreshing in a contemporary way.”

We don’t want to give too much away — watch the trailer for yourself and then let us know, do you love it as much as we do, HollywoodLifers?
