What would ‘The Voice’ be without Blake Shelton?! In a brand new interview, the country coach teases leaving the show. Click to see what he said!
The Voice has had Blake Shelton in the hot seat since its debut in 2011, but is the original coach on his way out? HollywoodLife.com was at a Nov. 17 press conference with the Season 7 judges when Blake admitted that he “can’t imagine doing this forever.”
‘The Voice’: Blake Shelton Leaving The Show?
“I can’t imagine…doing this forever,” Blake admitted at the BuzzFeed Brews panel in Los Angeles, Calif on Nov. 17, alongside Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell. “I mean, at some point you gotta get back to…having a life”
Before you start singing sad tunes, fear not — Blake is confirmed to return for Season 8 so he’s not going anywhere just yet. After the current round, which just kicked off the live shows on Nov. 17, he’ll be back with Adam, Pharrell and Christina Aguilera, who’s back after a two-season hiatus.
Still, Blake made it clear that he’s going to step away from the hit series eventually.
“I don’t want to stop anytime soon, but this show is like the damn — it’s like being on the damn Price Is Right, being on The Voice. I mean, it’s on every single night of the damn week every day of the year…so probably not forever, but I don’t know, not quittin’ anytime soon.”
Though we’ll miss Blake when he does pull the plug, we can certainly understand the superstar’s overwhelming schedule. Perhaps he wants to get back to recording new tunes. Or maybe he’s thinking about starting a family with his wife Miranda Lambert?! (We can keep crossing our fingers.)
