Taylor, if Harry is truly bombarding you with texts and has sent you 1,989 roses, according to ‘New Weekly’ magazine, you have to be flattered. You should also consider giving him a second chance. Here’s why.
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles — it’s amazing, but time can heal love wounds, and if Harry is ready for a romantic round two, then there are good reasons for you, Taylor, to at least consider a get together.
Taylor Swift: Consider Giving Harry Styles A Second Chance
Both of you have to admit that you didn’t end your relationship on the best of terms.
After getting hot and heavy in October 2013, you two went fast and furious through New Year’s Eve 2014, even kissing in the Times Square crowd at the stroke of midnight.
Sadly, a January vacation in the British Virgin Islands abruptly ended after a blowout fight, and your affair fizzled as quickly as it blew up.
It’s lived on far longer in Taylor’s songs and performances. After mocking you, Harry, by speaking in a fake British accent during a performance of “We Are Never Getting Back Together” at the 2013 Grammys, Taylor clearly referenced you in at least two songs.
First there was “Shake It Off”, the lead single off her new album 1989, in which she sings, “My ex-man brought his new girlfriend… She’s like, ‘Oh, my god!’ — but I’m just gonna shake.” Which fans believe is all about you, Harry, and fling Kendall Jenner, 19.
And then Taylor referenced you again in “Into the Woods.” Her fans were quick to point out that the song verse, “Last December, we were built to fall apart”, was about your relationship, which was on boil in December 2013.
Then you crooned, “Your necklace hanging from my neck,” and you had been spotted wearing Harry’s paper plane necklace often when you were a couple.
Finally, in “Into the Woods”, Taylor, you sing, “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon, twenty stitches in a hospital room,” and you just happened to tell Rolling Stone magazine about a major snowmobile accident you had with one of your boyfriends that totally freaked you out.
Not so coincidentally, there are photos of Harry banged up after that accident.
So my point is, Taylor, that you have been very public about the pain of your Harry breakup. Harry, on the other hand, has remained radio silent about your romance.
Taylor, you have to admit that he’s handled your songwriting like a gentleman. In fact, he’s handled your entire split like a gentleman.
Harry’s clearly a big believer in, what happens in the British Virgin Islands, stays in the British Virgin Islands.
Taylor, that has to say something to you about the quality of Harry’s character. Even if you two had a nasty split, he kept it very much to himself… and he’s never written a song about you.
Taylor: Here Are Key Reasons To Give Harry Another Chance
And Taylor, you also have to give Harry kudos for actually complimenting you on writing songs about him!
“We write from personal experience, and I think everyone does, so it would be hypocritical of us to be like, ‘Oh, you can’t write about us,'” he explained in a Google Hangout with fans on Nov. 9. “And they’re really good. They’re good songs. So I’m really lucky in that sense.”
Taylor, how many young men would be mature enough to publicly praise an ex — especially one who has dissed him?
Harry must respect you very much if he can so good-naturedly talk about being the subject of your songwriting. Which brings me to key reasons that you should really be willing to give a Harry relationship another go.
Both of you are older — Taylor, you’re 24, and Harry’s 20 — and you are both a lot wiser. But bottom line, you are both very much in the same business — you can understand each other. Understand each other’s pressures, lifestyles and joys. You are both musical artists who love to express yourselves through singing, songwriting and performing. You get all that about each other.
Now, Harry has proved that he is respectful in a breakup. Respectful of your privacy and respectful of your talent. He has never “betrayed” you. That is a major testament to his character.
And Taylor, don’t forget that you have been very vocal about the disappointments that you’ve had in your love life. You told David Letterman on Oct. 28 that you haven’t had any “lousy boyfriends in the last year and a half.”
And that was on top of you giving a long explanation to Rolling Stone about why you’re not dating now and probably won’t be for the conceivable future. “I don’t have the energy to be in love right now,” you said, after pointing out how hard it is to date under public scrutiny, let alone to meet a nice guy.
You’ve both learned from the mistakes of your relationship round one. Don’t say, “We are never, ever getting back together.” Taylor, wouldn’t you be curious to at least take baby steps back to romance with Harry, if he’s in ready mode?
HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Should Taylor give Harry a romance second chance? Let me know.
