So sad. The father who went viral for singing ‘Blackbird’ to his dying son took the stage at a memorial service service for his wife and baby to sing them one last song.

Musician Chris Picco has once again turned to his guitar to help him cope with the loss of his wife, Ashley Picco, and their newborn premature son, Lennon Picco. The devastated father made headlines after a video of him singing “Blackbird” to his tiny baby boy went viral, and now he is singing a new song in honor of the loss of his small family.

Showing an incredible amount of strength and bravery, Chris took the stage at a memorial for his wife and son to sing them one last song.

On Nov. 15, just days after his premature born son, Lennon, died in his arms after surviving days in the NICU without any brain activity or physical movement, Chris gave a touching speech to friends, family, and hospital workers.

Lennon’s death was the second tragedy Chris experienced, as his wife, Ashley, died during an emergency C-section on Nov. 8.

“I want good to come out of this,” a teary-eyed Chris told the packed Loma Linda University Church in Loma Linda, Calif.

“What good can we bring out of this? To this broken world, what good can we bring out of this?”

Chris, wearing all black with his hair pulled back into a ponytail, spoke openly about having so many questions, not having the answers for other peoples questions, and how he doesn’t believe that God “composed” this tragedy.

Then, he followed his speech with a Christian hymn called “This Is My Father’s World,” playing the guitar and singing beautifully as a montage of pictures of him and his son, Lennon, flashed across the screen.

You can watch Chris’ speech and full performance above. Our thoughts remain with him and his family during this very difficult time.
