We’re so excited! Daniel Bruhl is set to play a villain role in the third installment of the ‘Captain America’ franchise, according to Marvel. Find out all the details!

Daniel Bruhl, 36, has joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War, the third installment of the successful Marvel franchise, according to Marvel.com.

‘Captain America 3’: Daniel Bruhl To Play Villain In ‘Civil War’ Marvel Sequel

“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” producer Kevin Feige said.

Daniel was cast as a villain, but it’s unclear which exact character he’ll be playing.

Daniel joins a cast that includes Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), and Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther).

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters May 6, 2016.

Marvel Studios: Will Captain America & Thor Be Left Out Of ‘Avengers 3′?

In other Captain America news, it was recently reported that Chris Evans’ character, as well as Thor (Chris Hemsworth), won’t appear in the third Avengers movie.

Apparently, the actors’ existing deals with the studio are on the outs, so in order to keep them both under contract, without renegotiating, Chris and Chris would have to be left out of a film so that they could appear in a future installment, after Avengers 3.

If this were to happen, the studio would focus on new guys — possibly Ant-Man and Doctor Strange — in Avengers 3.

We’re not too sure we’d be happy with this scenario, but we’re definitely ecstatic about Daniel’s casting in Captain America: Civil War.
