The Nov. 13 episode of ‘Scandal’ blew us away, literally. Fitz, Olivia and Jake devised a plan to take down Rowan. Plus, who proved to be the ultimate traitor?!
The winter finale Scandal is one week away, and after the Nov. 13 episode, we are so not prepared. Andrew (Jon Tenney) made his long-awaited return, Cyrus (Jeff Perry) realized the truth about Michael (Matthew Del Negro) and Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Rowan (Joe Morton) had one intense showdown.
‘Scandal’ Recap: Drama Hits The Fan In The Bunker
Fitz, Olivia and Jake teamed up, and it wasn’t awkward at all. OK, just kidding. It was totally awkward. I mean, Jake was still really angry that Fitz accused him of something he most certainly did not do and beat him up.
Jake was being very honest with both Fitz and Olivia in the bunker. “I don’t want justice. I want to kill your father,” he told Olivia. Sorry, Jake, but that’s just something you don’t say to your girlfriend. But I digress.
Jake wasn’t a fan of Olivia and Fitz’s initial plan because he knew that once Rowan caught wind of what was going on, he would kill both he and Fitz. (He’s probably right.)
Their time in the bunker was basically the Fitz & Jake Taunting Hour and Jake didn’t hold back. He openly referred to his time with Olivia on the island. Being 100% done, Fitz was ready to take on Rowan without Jake, but Jake had important B613 files that would officially ruin Rowan. Fitz agreed to change his plan.
“No hard feelings?” Fitz said to Jake. They shook hands, but the animosity between them was clear.
Meanwhile, Liz wanted Olivia’s help. She was certain someone was bugging her phone. (Um, Cyrus.) Olivia agreed to help her out, but for how long?
OH HEY ANDREW! Long time no see! The Vice President was back and was greeted with a car bomb! Scandal is getting real.
‘Scandal’ Recap: This Kiss, This Kiss
Rowan called Olivia and just wanted to catch up. He proceeded to tell her that Fitz and Jake were just “boys.” They wouldn’t be there for her and he would be, long after they moved on. Awful much, Row?
After Andrew’s near-death experience, Mellie came running. This is the most excited we’ve seen Mellie in months. She kissed him and they end up getting it on.
Olivia, Fitz and Jake brought in David to help with Rowan. They wanted David to prosecute Rowan. Knowing how dangerous Rowan was, David was going to see what he could do.
Olivia and Fitz walked out of the bunker together. After this was all over, Fitz wanted to take Olivia back to Camp David. (We all know what happens there!) He tried to kiss her, but he was DE-NIED.
As usual, this didn’t stop Fitz. “It’s just you and me,” he said. “Kiss me, Olivia. You know you want to.”
With that type of sexual chemistry, there’s no way Olivia could abstain. They kissed! And it was HOT.
Olivia got a call from Huck, who told her that Cyrus was bugging Liz’s phone. Cyrus spilled the beans to Olivia about Michael. He desperately needed her help. It wasn’t really a choice; these people were dangerous.
Huck and Javi were still hanging out together. Still precious? Absolutely. Olivia was shocked to see Javi at Pope & Associates and wondered if his mother knew about all this.
‘Scandal’ Recap: Truth Hurts, Cy
Cyrus was distraught that he had compromised his integrity, family and the President with Michael. Yeah, for a prostitute. Glad to see Cyrus waking the hell up.
In her quest to help Cyrus, Olivia told Liz that her phone had a virus. Then, Olivia told Cyrus to cancel his date with Michael. Oh yeah, Cyrus had bought him an APARTMENT. Like, what.
But Michael wasn’t going to take no for an answer. He showed up on Cyrus’ doorstep and was ready to party, if you know what I mean. After his rough night with Cyrus, Olivia confronted Michael. He relayed some very important information about Liv, including that she was having an affair.
Jake and Olivia finally got their chance to talk. He admitted that she could have let him rot in jail while she (attempted to) ride off in the sunset with Fitz. Still paralyzed over who to choose, Olivia told him, “Don’t ever talk about me and the sun and another man.”
Later, Fitz, Jake and Olivia tried to devise a plan to get Rowan. Jake and Fitz couldn’t agree on what to do, so Olivia took matters into her own hands.
She called Rowan in tears and told him exactly what he wanted to hear. They agreed to have dinner together to talk things over.
‘Scandal’ Recap: ‘You Have Forsaken Me’ (*Shudders*)
Mellie confessed to Andrew why she had been avoiding for him months. “You left me behind,” she told him. “You picked the vice presidency over me.” Then, Jerry died, and a part of her died, too.
The First Lady was really pouring her heart out. “I’m not the same person I was, but if you will give me a second chance,” she said. Before long, they kissed. Again!
Olivia relayed the good news to Cyrus that Michael wasn’t really betraying him. He had access to everything, but gave Liz practically nothing.
Huck took Javi along for the stakeout on Liz’s house. Javi wanted to know why he’d left, but Huck was able to send him out before he could answer. Quinn showed up and they got a front row seat to Liz and Dan. However, Dan wasn’t the man Liz was having an affair with.
IT WAS ANDREW. That traitor!
Unfortunately, Huck and Quinn didn’t have time to process the news. Dan showed up and nearly killed Huck! Huck was able to kill Dan with broken window glass, but Javi had watched the whole thing.
Olivia and Rowan sat down dinner and I immediately realized that he knew. He kept going on and on about how everything he’d done was for Olivia and such.
“You have forsaken me,” he spat. “Your father. Your family.”
Rowan had all of the incoming SWAT team massacred. The files that David had taken from Jake’s storage? All blank. Rowan knows how to come prepared.
“For the first time in your life, you are on your own,” Rowan told Olivia.
I’m scared. Really scared. Rowan is going to be out for blood more than ever. Will everyone make it out alive?
