The crossover is finally here! The casts of ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago P.D.’ and ‘Law & Order: SVU’ combined for the TV event of the year kicking off Nov. 11 — and it could finally bring together our favorite will-they-won’t-they pair!
From day one, the sexual tension between Det. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Det. Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) on Chicago P.D. has been extremely evident. While their boss Voight (Jason Beghe) completely has been getting in the middle, the lines may just blur this week. Attention, Lindstead shippers!
‘Chicago Fire/Chicago PD/SVU’ Crossover
Could New York be the romantic air that Lindstead needs? Unfortunately, not so much.
“[There will be] further slow burning,” Executive Producer, Matt Olmstead said during a conference call. “It has been made clear to them by [Sergeant] Voight, he doesn’t tolerate in house romances.”
Ugh, well we need some sort of romance — and maybe Voight will actually be involved! On the call, PD and Fire exec Matt as well as SVU EP, Warren Light were asked about Voight’s upcoming interaction with Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay)!
Will ‘SVU’ & ‘P.D’ Create Shocking New Romance?
“When the Benson character shows up the first time during a pretty grim investigation there’s a smile on [Voight’s] face,” Matt said. “He’s happy to see her. There’s this immediate chemistry, immediate shared affection between two very similar characters. There’s a real bond right away between those two characters.”
So is there more than just that “bond?”
“When [Benson and Voight] have their private moment, what’s funny is I was talking to Jason and he was asking if Voight was ever going to have a love interest,” Matt revealed. “I said I wasn’t sure and we always portrayed that he had one true love and that was his wife, who isn’t with him anymore, and that he’s really married to the job, but when I said, ‘you know there’s a scene coming up with Mariska,’ he said, ‘Don’t say another word. I know how to play it.’”
Does that mean we could see the two bosses getting involved? We can hope right? The crossover event kicks off tonight, Nov. 11 on NBC at 10pm!
