Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Celebration Video — Raps ‘Backseat Freestyle’
Taylor has already made the transition from country singer to pop-star, but it looks like she could have a future in rap! On Nov. 4, the sweet singer posted a video of herself showing off her rap skills while celebrating the success of her latest album.
Taylor captioned the adorable video, “Industry experts predicted 1989 would sell 650k first week. You went and bought 1.287 million albums. AND IT’S GOT ME LIKE:”
She certainly doesn’t hold back — and raps each lyric perfectly while looking flawless in her car. Taylor is seen rocking her signature red lipstick as well as a two-toned blue sweater complete with matching beanie hat.
She definitely deserves to celebrate! Entertainment Weekly reports that 1989 is the first album this year to sell a million copies and it is the second highest seller overall this year, right behind the Frozen soundtrack — Congrats, Taylor!
It looks like Taylor and Kenrick have mutual love for one another’s music! As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Kendrick actually started singing Taylor hit, “Shake It Off” during an interview with Fader.com — let’s hope a collaboration between the two will happen one day!
The rapper said, “Shout out to Taylor Swift. You can’t put great music in different genres,” he told the publication. “I enjoy great music outside of my own music all the time, so I definitely can see where she’s coming from when she says that she listens to the record, and it’s a great thing for her to acknowledge that and put that good energy out into the world like that.”
