CMA Awards Show Highlights 2014 — Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood & More
Here are some of our favorite moment from the show (in no particular order):
1. Ariana Grande & Little Big Town Give Epic Performance
Ariana and Little Big Town teamed up for a highly-anticipated duet! Little Big Town performed “Day Drinking” before Ariana joined them on stage for her hit “Bang Bang” — they were amazing together!
2. Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley Majorly Diss Taylor Swift
The awards show kicked off with a hilarious opening monologue from hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley! They dissed Taylor Swift for leaving country music, saying that Nashville is suffering from PPTSD — Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder. (So harsh!)
3. Carrie Underwood’s Baby: Brad Paisley Reveals Gender
Brad spilled the beans on Carrie’s baby‘s gender during their opening monologue. While they were discussing Garth Brooks, Brad turned to Carrie and said, “Hey, you can name him Garth,” while pointing toward her baby bump. He then followed up with, “Hashtag: Blew It.”
4. Kacey Musgraves Rocks Huge Hair
“I’m from Texas! I love big hair — it’s full of secrets. This is country music. I mean come on, I had to,” she said on the carpet.
5. Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley Diss Renee Zellweger’s New Face
Carrie and Brad threw major shade at Renee Zellweger during the awards show. In the middle of mocking others, like Taylor Swift and the nurse with ebola, they threw in a dig about how unrecognizable the actress now looks.
“Though we refuse to joke about Renee Zellweger. First of all…she could be here. I mean, how would we know?” the hosts joked. (Zing!)
It was a great show, but there were way too many moments to pick just one as our favorite, so we’ll leave that up to YOU!
