We must warn you! Listening to this rendition of ‘Use Somebody,’ will absolutely blow your mind and make you feel completely talentless in comparison! That being said, check the out the young singer’s skills right here — she was only 12 in this new audio.

So, we’ll forgive you for so often forgetting that Lorde is only 17, just because the songstress has accomplished SO much in such a short time! Two Grammys later, we’re totally convinced of her star quality but this audio clip reminded us that the New Zealander always had the ability to stun audiences — and she’s been doing it since the young age of 12.

‘Use Somebody’: Lorde Covers Kings Of Leon

If you think Lorde’s husky and soulful voice is way beyond her years right now, you will be shocked that her voice was just as poignant when she was only 12! Even as a preteen, Lorde could very easily induce goose bumps and we’re not exaggerating!

The audio clip has been online for ages but starts making rounds around the Internet recently. It’s a recording of the singer’s acoustic performance of the King Of Leon hit song “Use Somebody,” when the tween visited a local radio station in her hometown of Auckland.

Strumming along to the ballad, Lorde belted out the rock anthem that Kings Of Leon made famous, and we have to tell you that we think it’s just as amazing as the original! She experiments with different pitches so confidently, especially for a twelve year old, that it will astound you.

Started Singing Early

There are a couple of uploads online of Lorde singing before she made it big, but this has to be one of the most powerful. Among those, is a video that shows the singer competing along with her school at a Battle Of The Bands final. But you’ll be surprised to know that her team placed 3rd in the competition! Guess she’s having the last laugh now!

Tell us, Hollywood Lifers! Do you think that Lorde is the most talented artist of her generation or does she have some strong competition?
