Kendrick has finally released the new video for his hit song ‘i’ and it doesn’t disappoint. Check it out right here!

From the same guy who brought us “Swimming Pools” and “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” comes “i”, which could very well be the season’s hottest feel-good track! Kendrick Lamar surprised fans by unveiling his hot new video for “i”, off his upcoming untitled album, and we have to say that we’re impressed! Watch the video and tell us what YOU think!

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘i’ Video — Latest Release From His New Album

While the video starts off pretty dark in a club, Kendrick soon bursts out onto the streets and dances his way through his hometown of Compton, Calif. It’s got a pretty Step Up 2 feel to it, with Kendrick recruiting dancers that are hanging around the neighborhood and then breaking into an impromptu dance party on a rooftop!

Towards the end of the video, Kendrick hops into a car for a casual ride around town with the windows down. And that’s when R&B legend Ron Isley makes a cameo as Kendrick’s driver! Considering “i” samples the Isley Brothers’ “That Lady”, Ron fits right in!

We think Kendrick’s new video is SO fun and you’ll definitely be dancing along to it in absolutely no time!

Inspiration For The Song

Although the song may sound uplifting, Kendrick revealed to Hot 97 that the inspiration for it is actually pretty dark.

“I wrote for the homies that’s in the penitentiary right now. And I also wrote a record for these kids that come up to my show with these slashes on they wrists sayin’ they don’t wanna live no more. It’s serious. People on the inside don’t feel like they got nothing to live for, and people on the outside…For the people that’s outside you have somethin’ way more to live for, it starts with yourself first, and you won’t be thinking all these negative things that’s going around in the world that’s completely corrupting your brain.”

So what do you think about the track, HollywoodLifers? Do you think it’s inspiring? Kind of dark? Let us know!
