The national anthem brought the six-foot-tall wide receiver to tears before the Colts v. NY Giants game on Oct. 3 — and after listening to Chris Botti’s version, we don’t blame him.
Indianapolis Colts player, Reggie Wayne, was SO by touched by trumpeter, Chris Botti’s, beautiful take on the National Anthem on Nov. 2 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey! Check out the performance right here and tell us what you think!
Chris Botti’s National Anthem
The athlete was seen tearing up during the two-minute long performance but couldn’t have been the only one in the audience who got a little emotional. The atmosphere was visibly intense and heart-warming, that the whole thing moved us a little bit too! Chris concluded his amazing act to eardrum-shattering applause and a burst of fireworks. We felt chills, and we loved it!
The game took place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Monday night, and marked Reggie’s return after sitting out due to an elbow injury. So we’re not really sure whether Reggie was feeling nervous or patriotic, but what we are sure of is that he owned the field!
It was so clear that Reggie brought his A-Game last night, securing his longest reception of the year — a 40-yard touchdown! The Colts won 40-24.
It Was His Time To Shine!
According to Fox 8, Reggie told ESPN that he feels “blessed to be out there.” So sweet!
He went on to address his emotion at the start of the game as well, saying, “It’s an emotional game, man, and sometimes it comes out. An old wise guy once told me you shouldn’t hold back your tears. Tonight was a night with the tears.”
We think that’s some pretty great advice, but we want to know what you thought of the whole performance, Hollywood Lifers! Were you moved to tears watching the video or did you find it fairly average? Let us know!
