‘Parks and Recreation’ funnyman Nick Offerman stars in this hilarious new spoof of a Home Depot/Lowe’s commercial, brought to you by John Oliver via ‘Last Week Tonight.’ This is a must-see!

Nick Offerman, 44, lent his comedic talents to John Oliver‘s show Last Week Tonight on Nov. 2. In the side-splitting new fauxmercial, Nick plays the role of a intuitive sales associate for the hardware store Home Depot, and he just so happens to be a natural at it!

John Oliver wasn’t impressed by Lowe’s recent announcement that it will be testing robotic shopping assistants at its hardware stores.

“Robot assistants are a terrible idea,” he told his audience. “Sales associates at home improvement stores are not there to help people buy things, they’re there to stop couples from tearing each other apart.”

To prove his point, John tapped Nick Offerman to star in a fake commercial featuring the talk show host’s brilliant new marketing strategy for Home Depot — actual customer service.

In the video, Nick trails a married couple who just can’t seem to stop arguing about their disheveled marriage, children, mothers and interracial incest. In order to break up their fights, Nick pops in and distracts the couple with perfect suggestions on items for their home.

Whether it’s a copper sink, a floor plant or a porn squabble, Nick is there right when the couple emotionally needs him. Can a robot do that?

John Oliver Isn’t On Board With The Robot Idea

Not everyone is against Lowe’s new sales associates of the future. In fact, one guy really likes the idea of robot assistants and even considers them his “friends.” John couldn’t help but laugh out loud at this, telling the man flat out to just “stop it.”

John then continued his rant, saying, “[Robots] don’t realize that home improvement stores are a lethal combination of everything that can ruin a relationship: spending money, reconciling tastes, long-term planning, and fluorescent lighting.”

Point taken, John!

So what do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you Team Home Depot or Team Lowe’s? Do you think Nick’s new ad is hilarious? Let us know.
