Lauren Hill had long dreamed of playing college basketball, and she fulfilled her wish on Sunday, Nov. 2. The Mount St. Joseph freshman forward, who is battling an inoperable brain tumor that has given her just months left to live, only needed 17 seconds to sink the first basket!

Lauren made a left-handed layup for the opening basket after her team won the tip against Hiram College, according to CBS News.
The layup was one of many emotional moments for Lauren, who gave a touching speech after the game.
“I never thought I would play on a college court, put my feet on the floor and feel the vibration of the crowd,” Lauren said after the game. “This game has been amazing, and everything that happened today was amazing. This is a really good day.”

Lauren, who was diagnosed last fall after experiencing extreme dizziness while playing for her high school team, has a tumor the size of a lemon. Unfortunately, it’s growing daily.
But despite her condition, Lauren set out to fulfill her dream of playing college basketball.
“She’s chasing a dream,” her dad, Brent Hill, told CBS News. “And she wants people to see that – that they can do that.”
On Nov. 3, LeBron James took to Instagram to say he was inspired by Lauren’s performance. He said, “You are simply and truly ‘AMAZING’ Lauren Hill!!! Thank you for inspiring me and I’ll try my best to match you! Congrats on your game. Also be looking out for a package from I to You! You’re Awesome!!!”
