The Nov. 2 episode of ‘Once Upon A Time’ was absolutely bonkers. Rumple and Belle’s relationship hit a major snag. Plus, did Belle know Anna before she disappeared?
We need to talk about Once Upon A Time. The Nov. 2 episode featured the unraveling of the Snow Queen’s (Elizabeth Mitchell) plans, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Anna’s (Elizabeth Lail) past and we finally learned what happened to Anna! (Seriously, it’s about time! That girl’s been MIA for too long!)
‘Once Upon A Time’: Something’s Rotten In Arendelle
Oh hey, Belle! I almost forgot all about you. In a flashback sequence, Belle and her mother were attacked by what looked like scary trolls. Sadly, Belle’s mom was killed at the hands of these monsters.
Emma finally told everyone about her connection to the Snow Queen. The gang was pretty shocked at the revelation, especially parents Snow and Charming. Emma was curious about whether Rumple knew anything about her, but he stayed mum.
Anna returned to Arendelle and ran straight to Anna. Yay! The sisters were reunited! (Plus, how amazing does Elsa look in this new outfit?!) Anna didn’t tell Elsa about the box, which would come back to bite her later. She was introduced to the Snow Queen, but didn’t have quite the connection as Elsa.
She headed right to the stables to talk to Kristoff. She knew something was off with the Snow Queen. He told her to cool it, especially given her gullible past. (Remember Hans?) Anna wasn’t letting the Snow Queen go and was determined to talk to Grand Pabbie to discuss the situation. I do not understand why Kristoff doesn’t just go along with Anna! They are NEVER together! Meanwhile, Snow Queen was listening in on the whole convo! Ruh roh.
‘Once Upon A Time’: All About The Trolls
On the quest to find the Snow Queen, Robin wanted to chat with Regina. Regina was giving him the cold shoulder, which he thought was because dropped those special three words. What was really bothering Regina was the fact that she may never find a cure for Marian. And seriously, what happens then?
Regina wanted him to find a way to fall in love with his wife again. (Sigh.)
But the former Evil Queen really just wanted Emma and Hook to stop making oogling eyes at each other.
DON’T STOP CAPTAIN HOOK. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS.
In the biggest Disney crossover you never expected, Belle and Anna have met before! While on her search to find Grand Pabbie and the rest of the trolls, Bella and Anna had a run-in! And it was at Oaken’s trading post! Love it.
Rumple tried to warn the Snow Queen that Emma has hot on her trial. The Snow Queen didn’t seem worried. Apparently, it was all a part of her plan.
In the present day, Belle remembered Anna and was determined to find her. Back in the day, Belle and Anna had quality girl talk going to see Grand Pabbie.
However, they encountered a mountain that wasn’t going to move itself. This spelled T-R-O-U-B-L-E for these two princesses.
They finally made it to the trolls and Grand Pabbie had some interesting information for Anna. Her mother, Gerda, was the youngest of three sisters. Her two older sisters were named Helga and Ingrid. One day, Helga and Ingrid vanished. Grand Pabbie ended up taking the memories of everyone in Arendelle away after the disappearance.
As it turns out, the Snow Queen was actually Helga. Anna smelled something rotten in Arendelle, and knew it was the Snow Queen.
‘Once Upon A Time’: Two-Faced Belle
Everything started to hit Belle all at once in Storybrooke and she demanded Rumple take her to the Snow Queen. He realized she was after Anna, too.
On their way back to Arendelle, the girls ran into some turbulence. Anna ended up hanging by a thread over the side of the mountain. After Belle hesitated, Anna fell to the ground.
They wouldn’t really kill Anna would they?
The Snow Queen was right there watching the whole thing. She took the box and Anna away. Belle was watching this horrifying memory go down while staring at a mirror in the Snow Queen’s lair.
The mirror taunted her and made her question everything.
“Why do you think the dark one married you?” Belle’s mirror persona asked her.
“He needed someone weak.”
Belle realized that Rumple had been lying about the dagger. She attacked him and then immediately flipped out about hurting him. I don’t think Belle really knows what kind of beast she’s dealing with.
Rumple said that nothing the mirror said was true. Belle finally confessed everything she knew about Anna. She was ready to make things right.
‘Once Upon A Time’: One Happy Family
Rumple turned on the Snow Queen by revealing the Sorcerer’s Hat. She’d lost her leverage — for now. But is that really what she wanted?
Thankfully, Anna wasn’t dead. She just got locked up by the Snow Queen. The icy queen started to twist Anna’s words about the box. Anna questioned her about her sisters, but the Snow Queen stayed tight-lipped.
The Snow Queen just wanted a family who would embrace her for who she is. Unfortunately, that didn’t include Anna.
“You have nothing in common with Elsa and me,” the Snow Queen told Anna. “You are the odd one out.”
She was serious. The Snow Queen was fully prepared to have someone take Anna’s place. So weird!
That person just happened to be EMMA!
The Snow Queen was after Emma, since she was the savior. I have a feeling Emma isn’t going to be receptive to the idea.
Belle finally told Elsa everything she knew about Anna. Thank goodness. Plus, Belle had some interesting information about the Snow Queen that could help. There was a spell called the Spell of Shattered Sight. If the Snow Queen decided to cast it, then everyone would turn on each other!
While I am very worried about this, my main concern is Hook and Emma. My heart can’t handle if these two end up at odds!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think about tonight’s Once Upon A Time? Are you glad Anna isn’t dead? How creepy is the Snow Queen? Sound off on your thoughts on tonight’s episode!
