Just because Gotham’s Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock are partners doesn’t mean they are the newest buddy cops on the TV scene. Gotham’s protectors have butt heads a number of times, so will that continue over the course of the season? Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue tease in an EXCLUSIVE video what’s to come from the Gotham PD partners, especially since Gordon’s decision to keep Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) alive is having serious consequences on the city.
‘Gotham’: Jim Gordon & Harvey Bullock’s Relationship Gets Intense
Not killing Cobblepot is definitely on Gordon’s list of current regrets. Since returning to Gotham, Cobblepot has been on a murderous and manipulative streak, and he’s gaining power in the city.
Donal Logue reveals that Gordon’s inability to go to extreme lengths to protect Gotham has left him with blood on his hands.
“I told him that you kind of have to do a little bad thing for the greater good,” Donal, who plays Bullock, said in regards to Gordon. “Because he couldn’t do it, all the blood of those innocent people that the Penguin’s running into, that’s on Jim Gordon because he couldn’t do what I told him to do.”
Gordon and Bullock don’t always see eye to eye and Donal admits that this will be a “blow that’s hard to recover from.”
At the end of the day, they’re still partners. But will Gordon and Bullock ultimately be torn apart?
“It’s obviously going to tear at the fabric of their relationship, but not irrevocably because they have to continue to be partners in some way,” Ben dishes.
