‘Days Of Our Lives’: Alison Sweeney Says Sami Brady Will Return
Good news, Days fans!
Sami Brady left Salem for tinseltown on the Oct. 30 episode, but that doesn’t mean she can’t take a trip back to Salem — and Alison Sweeney says that she probably will!
While you’re still wiping away your tears from Alison’s final episode, take a good read right here because Sami’s not gone for good.
“I’d love to come back to Days,” Alison told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, of the show, which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.
With the soap’s big milestone coming up, Alison says there are plenty of reasons to return for a special guest appearance.
“I talked to Ken [Corday, executive producer] about it, and was like for the 50th, if he has a big plan, I would love to be invited back,” Alison tells us. “I’ll be honest, anything is possible in soaps right? You can come back no matter what. I would come back for weddings and funerals or whatever. It was my way of trying to help minimize the chance of them killing me off!”
(Talk about a good strategy.)

Alison may be leaving Salem for the most part, but she’s staying in the world of soaps! The actress, mother and The Biggest Loser host is going behind the camera — she was asked to direct episodes of General Hospital!
“It’s been such a thrill. I love doing it,” Alison told us of her director duties. “It’s been such a fresh new challenge for me and I just love being a part of the process. I love getting the script before anyone else…and getting to work with it and spending all that extra time in how to help tell the story, and so it was really an honor! I enjoyed my time there and I loved the cast…They were all great to work with and were really so welcoming of me and I really had a great time.”
